Chia-Chen Yang
Founder
Founder of Mrama Institute in Taiwan, building the institute around quantum machine learning, optimization, open research, and the one-dragon path from idea to working system.
Mrama Institute for Quantum Information and Intelligence is an independent research initiative dedicated to advancing quantum information science, quantum machine learning, intelligent optimization, and hybrid quantum-classical computing.
Our Story
Mrama began with Chia-Chen in Taiwan and Alexandre in France, two young researchers who found in each other the same passion for understanding difficult problems and building ideas that could move beyond the page.
Across different cultures, languages, and time zones, their conversations kept returning to the same questions: how quantum information could reshape computation, how intelligent systems could help solve real-world problems, and how research could remain open, curious, and useful.
That shared curiosity became a commitment. Together, they founded Mrama as the kind of research institute they wanted to see in the world: independent in thought, international in spirit, and driven by the belief that ambitious science can begin with a small team and genuine passion.
Inside that story is the image of one dragon: a single continuous path linking imagination, research, software, education, and public knowledge. For Mrama, the dragon is not decoration. It is a promise that ideas should travel all the way from a first question to a working, shareable system.
Organization
Mrama Institute is an independent, self-funded research project co-founded across Taiwan and France. It is not yet a registered legal entity. Its work focuses on practical research in quantum information, quantum optimization, quantum machine learning, intelligent systems, and one-dragon workflows that connect research, engineering, education, and open-source publication.

Research Philosophy
Research Areas
Foundational study of information encoded in quantum states, entanglement, and quantum communication protocols.
The mathematical and physical postulates underlying quantum mechanics -- state spaces, measurement, and unitary evolution -- that every quantum algorithm builds on.
Designing quantum-enhanced learning algorithms that exploit superposition and entanglement for pattern discovery.
Formulating combinatorial optimization problems as energy landscapes and solving them with variational, quantum-native, and adiabatic annealing methods.
Building architectures that combine classical compute with quantum processors to solve real-world problems.
Protocols for transmitting and distributing quantum information across distance, including quantum key distribution and the building blocks of a future quantum internet.
Cryptographic protocols and threat models for a post-quantum world, spanning quantum-resistant algorithms and the guarantees quantum hardware can provide.
Educational exploration of quantum simulation for molecular systems, starting from minimal-basis, two-qubit examples.
Advancing machine learning theory and systems, from optimization to reasoning, that complement quantum research.
Applying mathematical optimization and decision science to complex, large-scale operational systems.
Why Mrama
Not bound to a single university department or funding cycle.
Research is judged by whether it solves a real problem.
Ideas are built and tested, not left as theory alone.
Methods and code are published so results can be checked and reused.
Core Values
Research Network
Mrama is small by design today — this map and list grow as people join.
